I contributed to the CAADRIA Workshop

I participated as a contributor in "NURBS Volume Crystallography" led by Satoru Sugihara and Kenichi Kabeya.

Workshop

I contributed to a workshop at the international conference CAADRIA 2025, held at the University of Tokyo in March.

The conference hosted a variety of workshops on topics ranging from robotic arms to AI.
I assisted with a workshop focused on geometry and computer graphics led by Satoru Sugihara and Kenichi Kabeya titled “NURBS Volume Crystallography.”

W08: NURBS Volume Crystallography | CAADRIA2025

NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline) is a mathematical framework used to represent shapes in 3D space.

NURBS Curve and NURBS Surface represent 1D curves and 2D surfaces respectively, while NURBS Volume is their 3D extension.

ArchiFuture Web features an article by Sugihara-san that provides a theoretical overview of NURBS Volumes and summarizes the workshop.

In the workshop, participants explored modeling using NURBS Volumes, created physical models using 3D printers and laser cutters, and displayed their works in an exhibition.
Even the exhibition stands themselves were designed using NURBS Volumes.
